Miley Tops Billboard 200 With 'Bass Persuades' After Decade-Long Wait

Miley has hit Number One on the Billboard 200 with Bass Persuades, her first album to top the chart in more than a decade.

The singer's 10th studio album debuts with 61,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States for the week ending Sept. 24, according to Luminate data reported by Billboard. Bass Persuades is her sixth album to reach the top of the albums chart, and her first since 2013's Bangerz.

The count includes 16 Top 10 albums overall, spanning her work as Miley Cyrus — she now records under the mononym Miley — and her soundtrack releases as the Disney character Hannah Montana.

Bass Persuades arrived on Sept. 18, preceded by its title track as a single on Sept. 3. That song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at Number 35. The album follows Something Beautiful, which peaked at Number Four on the June 14, 2025 albums chart.

Physical sales drove the opening. Of the 61,000 units earned, 47,000 came from album sales, while streaming equivalent albums (SEA) accounted for 14,000 — the equivalent of 14.22 million on-demand official streams of the LP's songs. The first-week total was bolstered by an unusually broad retail push: 16 vinyl variants, one carrying a bonus track; nine CD versions, one also with a bonus track; six download variants with bonus offerings; and a cassette.

The rest of the Top 10 saw strong competition. Ella Langley's Dandelion, a previous chart-topper, holds at Number Two with just under 61,000 equivalent units — a near photo finish with Miley's total. Riley Green's That's Just Me debuted at Number Three with 60,000 equivalent album units. Beabadoobee scored her first Top 10 album with Pylon, which enters at Number Seven on 35,000 equivalent album units.

Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem sits at Number Four, and Olivia Rodrigo's You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl so in Love falls to Number Five from the previous week's Number Three spot.

With three albums separated by roughly a thousand units at the top of the chart, the coming week will test whether Bass Persuades can hold its lead against Langley and Green's surging country entries.
