Anna Netrebko to Make Theater Bonn Debut in 2026

Anna Netrebko will make her Theater Bonn debut on Nov. 6, 2026, singing Abigaille in Verdi's "Nabucco."

The soprano returns to the German company on Jan. 10, 2027, to sing Mimì in Puccini's "La Bohème." Both performances form part of Theater Bonn's "World Stars in Bonn" series, which presents major international artists in targeted engagements.

Netrebko will share the "La Bohème" stage with British-Italian tenor Freddie De Tommaso, who sings Rodolfo.

The role of Abigaille ranks among Netrebko's most acclaimed interpretations. She has sung the part at the Teatro alla Scala, the Berlin State Opera, and the Arena di Verona. Her Mimì carries an even longer performance history, with appearances at the Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the Wiener Staatsoper, among other houses.

The Bonn appearances sit within a busy period for the soprano. This season she opened the Gran Teatre del Liceu's season and is set to make a role debut as Judith in Bartók's "Bluebeard's Castle." Further plans include reprising "La Gioconda" in London and Madrid and singing Amelia in "Un Ballo in Maschera" in Vienna.

The Theater Bonn dates extend a career pattern in which Netrebko has increasingly anchored her schedule in European houses. For Bonn audiences, the "World Stars in Bonn" engagements mark the first opportunity to hear one of the era's most prominent sopranos in two signature roles within a single season.
